Orlene Floor Rug August 24th, 2017 - 08:51:37
There are two general kinds of material used in rug making, natural and synthetic. You can tell the value, sturdiness, feel, and look of floor rugs by the materials that they`re made of. Examples of natural materials are animal or plant fibers, including wool, cotton, sisal, jute, sea grass or bamboo. Synthetic materials on the other hand are man-made materials like viscose, rayon, nylon, acrylic or polypropylene/olefin. Each type of material has its advantages and disadvantages depending on how you want to use the floor rug. These materials can also be mixed together to make one rug, like a blend of wool and cotton, or natural and synthetic materials.
This type of rug is one of my favorites, they`re all throw backs that are coming back in style. We`re talking about shag rugs, flokati and sheepskin rugs. These plush and thick rugs bring depth to a room by providing a three-dimensional aspect. The plushness also makes these rugs heavenly to walk on- making them ideal to place in a common seating area. Just imagine running your toes through the soft, thick fabric of a sheepskin rug while you relax on the couch.
Floor rugs are often times under rated, but in reality, they are very important in making today`s homes look better. Designers will often look to place rugs to quickly but effectively liven up a dull area. They are made in different styles, colors, materials, patterns or designs, and prices. Some people even treat floor rugs as investment, like buying those expensive oil paintings of the masters. I wouldn`t blame you, though, if you may think of draping your beautiful rugs on your shoulders to complete you look for tonight.
Determining the purpose of looking for a rug is essential before devoting any time. Hardwood floors are considered by some to be the crowning jewel of their home, so keep them protected by scratches and nicks with an area rug is a good idea. Floor rugs come in a diverse selection of patterns, colors and sizes. Many manufacturers only produce rugs in set standard sizes, so you should consider the area that needs to be covered before looking at any designs. Using a floor pad will help to keep the rug in place, thus keeping the protected area of flooring safe.
